Eason Chan’s Don’t Want to Let Go won Best Mandarin Album at the Golden Melody Awards last June, and he is to follow that victory up with his highly anticipated new Mandarin album in September 2009.

His last Mandarin release was a Greatest Hits package in 2005, and now he is breaking the long silence with a new Mandarin album titled after his identity – that being The Song Man. Andy selected 10 songs from a pool of over 600 demos, and assembled a top production crew including such renowned lyricists as Preston Lee, Lin Xi, and Vincent Fang. The first cut from the album to hit airwaves is a rock ballad named “Lovebirds”. Other new tracks include “Cockroach”, “If… If…”, “Hangover”, and “man to man”. Since making the leap from TVB actor to singer, Raymond Lam has quickly turned into one of Hong Kong’s best-selling pop acts. After less than two years as a singer, the popular star is already heading to the Hong Kong Coliseum, and he’s releasing his new album, Let’s Get Wet, right before his June 17 and 18 concerts. Raymond’s third Cantonese album comes with seven new songs, kicking off with the title track Let’s Get Wet, his concert theme which was specially penned by Wyman Wong. A major contender for this year’s newcomer awards has already emerged in Alisa, an American-Taiwanese singer poised for greatness. Having triumphed in numerous singing competitions in her teenage days, Alisa famously beat Rachel Liang in the One Million Star show last year. Now signed with Universal Music Taiwan, which regards her as “Asia’s Rihanna”, Alisa releases her self-titled debut album with the backing of top lyricist Lin Xi and musician Adia. Taiwan-based Malaysian singer Nicholas Teo is going strong in his career. After starring in the top-rated idol drama Woody Sambo and holding his From Now On tour in Malaysia and Singapore last year, the “Ballad Prince”, now signed with Warner Music, is set to release his latest album The Moment of Silence in June 2009. The main track The Moment of Silence is an Euro rock number that manifests love in its simplest and most straightforward form. Choc7, the second boy band emerged from Taiwan’s popular idol-nurturing TV program Bang Bang Tang, consists of Ben, Modi, Peter, Shawn, Vibo, Louis, and Gevin.
